HARTSVILLE: Levi E. Henry, Sr., 76, of Jenkins-Henry Rd. passed away Friday (Dec. 13, 2013) at his home following a long illness.

Levi was born September 14, 1937 in Hartsville to Adrian and Agnes (Stewart) Henry. On May 29, 1973 in Canisteo he married Sheila Gall who survives and lives in Hartsville. He was predeceased by his parents, a sister Marjorie Hughes and two brothers, Adrian and Duane Henry.

Levi was a lifelong resident of Hartsville and the Canisteo area. He was a truck driver for many construction companies within the area the last being with the Otis Pipeline Co. of Andover. He was a member of the Teamsters Union #529 in Elmira. Levi loved to hunt, play the guitar and sing with family and friends and enjoyed his many pets.

In addition to his wife Shelia of Hartsville, Levi is survived by three sons: Laverne C. “Chuck” Henry of Arkport, Levi E. Henry, Jr. (Barbara) of Hornell and Gordon S. Henry (Mary) of Bowie, TX. One daughter Tina Marie Donat (Terry) of Oklahoma City, OK. He is also survived by three brothers: Laverne (Jeanette) Henry of Canisteo, Michael (Sherry) Henry of Hartsville and Ronald (Marilyn) Henry of Ocala, Fl. four sisters: Kathy (James) Forrester of Canisteo, Sharon Warren of Bath, Linda (Clayton) Towner of Hornell and Patricia (Fred) Bulkley of Bath, 16 grand children to include his dear granddaughter Stephanie Ackman and ten great grandchildren, many, many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to acknowledge Levi’s best friends and companions Darcie and Jessie, and special care givers Mike and Chuck Henry who made his last wishes come true.

The family will receive friends from11- 2:00 PM, Monday at the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home, 29 East Main St. in Canisteo where funeral and committal services will take place immediately following calling hrs. at 2 PM. Burial will be in Hartsville Center Cemetery in Hartsville.
