Lois W. Lisi, formerly of Arkport

WELLSVILLE/ARKPORT-Lois W. Lisi, 78, of the Andover Road, Wellsville, formerly of Arkport, passed away late Monday afternoon (March 2, 2015) at Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville.

 
Born in Hornell on April 23, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Frank and D. Geraldine Partridge Wellington. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her brother, Francis Wellington, who was killed in action during World War II; her sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Lynford Stewart of Arkport and her two sisters-in-law, Helen Wellington of Arkport and Carol Wellington of Hornell.

 
A graduate of Arkport Central School, Lois also attended the former Hornell Business School.

 
She was employed by the late Dr. Irving Felberg in Hornell and also at the former Bethesda Community Hospital in North Hornell. For several years, before her retirement, she was self employed doing billing for several area anesthesiologists.

 
Lois has resided in the Wellsville area for nearly the past 12 years and was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Wellsville. While residing in Arkport she was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish and was a communicant of St. Ann’s Church in Hornell.

 
An avid reader, she also enjoyed gardening and shopping, especially for shoes. Lois loved her “fur grand babies” and will be remembered most of for her wonderful sense of humor.

 
Her loving family includes her husband, John A. Lisi; her daughter, Ann (J. Curtis) VanPelt of Wellsville; her two brothers, Leon Wellington of Arkport and George Wellington of Hornell; also many nieces and nephews, as well as several cousins.

Calling hours are 4-7 p.m. Friday (March 20, 2015) at the Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 285 Main St., Hornell. Friends are invited to meet her family at St. Ann’s Church in Hornell where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in her memory at 11 a.m. Saturday (March 21, 2015). Interment will be at the convenience of her family at St. Ann’s Cemetery, Hornell.

 
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute in her memory to either the Hornell Area Human Society, 7649 Industrial Park Road, Hornell, N.Y. 14843 or to the Donald A. Howe Library, 155 N. Main St., Wellsville, N.Y. 14895. Envelopes for memorial contributions will be available at the funeral home.
