MaryAnn Ciancaglini, of Hornell

HORNELL-MaryAnn Ciancaglini, 76, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning (Jan. 3, 2017) at her home on John St.

Born in Hornell on July 5, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Cecil (Woolever) Dugo. On Feb. 15, 1958 she was married at St. Ann’s Church in Hornell to Augie Ciancaglini, who predeceased her in 1991 after 33 years of marriage. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her sister, Delores Williams and her brother, Marshall Kame.

A lifelong resident of Hornell, MaryAnn attended Hornell High School and was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish and a communicant of St. Ann’s Church.

For several years she was employed at the former Marion Rohr Co. in Hornell and retired in 2009 from Wegmans in Hornell where she was employed for about 10 years.

MaryAnn was a loving grandmother who enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s athletic events and school functions. She was an avid fan of the Alfred University Saxons, Notre Dame and the Buffalo Bills.

Her loving family includes her sister, Pauline Bartollotti of Mt. Morris; her two sons, James and Michael Ciancaglini both of Hornell; her two daughters, MaryKay (Joe) Dwyer of Arkport and JoAnn (Shane) McMahon of Almond; her two grandsons, Adam and Austin Dwyer and her two granddaughters, Andrea and Jessica McMahon; her two sisters-in-law, Madelyn Dugo and Josie Ciancaglini both of Hornell; also several nieces and nephews; as well as her cousin, Annette Oyer of Rochester.

The Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc. in Hornell is honored to serve the family of MaryAnn Ciancaglini.

Calling hours are 4-7 p.m. Friday at the Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 285 Main St., Hornell. Relatives and friends are invited to meet her family at St. Ann’s Church in Hornell where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday. Committal prayers and interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Town of Fremont.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute in her memory to the Hornell High School Alumni Assoc., P.O. Box 135, Hornell, N.Y. 14843. Envelopes for memorial contributions will be available at the funeral home.
