It was one week ago that New York State Assembly Republican leader Will Barclay, announced that he is not running again and stepping down as Minority Leader. Two days ago, Long Island GOP Assemblyman Ed Ra was elected as the new Minority Leader. Then, yesterday, Corning Republican Assemblyman Phil Palmesano was appointed by Assemblyman Ra as the Ranking Member of the Assembly Ways & Means Committee.
FROM HORNELL MAYOR JOHN BUCKLEY:
“I want to congratulate Assemblyman Phil Palmesano on his appointment as Ranking Minority Member of the Assembly Ways and Means Committee. This is a very important and highly respected leadership position, and it speaks volumes about Phil’s experience, integrity, and dedication to fiscal responsibility. Phil grew up right here in Hornell, and his continued success on behalf of our region is something all Hornell residents can take great pride in. We are fortunate to have a hometown leader serving New York State at such a high level, and I wish him tremendous success in this critical role.”
