HORNELL, NY – St. James Hospital announced today that 7.5 million came through from the state government, and that there will be about 460 employees working at the new independent St. James. Hospital officials also say that 72 employees will lose their jobs. Mayor Shawn Hogan notes that that’s less than the 180 job losses that was originally anticipated. He calls it great news for the community. The Hornell Mayor says they’re very sad for those who lost their jobs, but are happy for those who can keep their jobs. Hogan says the reason that less people lost their jobs is because of the increase in the number of the inpatient beds that there will be.
