The results of the straw poll vote on the possible three way merger show that voters were against it in all three school districts, in the straw poll vote.
Alfred Almond 582 no votes, 134 yes
Arkport: 210 yes votes, 308 no votes
Canaseraga 179 no votes, 135 yes
Arkport School SUperintendent Glenn Niles issued the following statement:
“I’d like to thank those who took the time to vote today on this important issue,” Arkport Superintendent of Schools Glenn P. Niles said. “As the number of students in the region continues to shrink, we must and will explore every option available to us for educating our children in a cost-effective way. In coming days, the board will review the district’s options in light of today’s vote outcome.”
