Mixed Feelings During Alfred-Almond Central’s Public Comment

October 16, 2014

Last night at the Alfred-Almond Central School Board meeting, during the public comment part of the meeting, varying views were expressed.

One man who identified himself as a father of two children spoke of his sincere appreciation for AA, in letting out of district students attend Alfred-Almond.  The man said he was very pleased with the quality of education they were receiving.

Also, a woman who said that she was the mother of a student, spoke out against Alfred-Almond School board president Pierce.   She seemed to indicate that he was “selling out” to Common Core.  Pierce responded by saying that he has family in the district who are doing just fine with averages over 90%.
