CANISTEO, NY – Village elections are on March 21, and Canisteo resident Monica (Halbert) Recktenwald is running as a write-in candidate for Canisteo Village mayor.
Her resume: she’s worked as a warden for the federal prison system, in two Pennsylvania correctional facilities and in Otisville, New York. Monica Recktenwald is also a former St. James Hospital nurse, and a graduate of Canisteo High School, and Alfred State College. Her opponent is Dr. Grant Seamens, who is also running for mayor of Canisteo.
