Canisteo Mayor Monica Recktenwald is not running again. She made that announcement in 2024. Also, at the recent GOP Caucus in Canisteo, Republican Fred Thompson was voted in to run for mayor there in the village.
James Dineen, who is seeking reelection for his village trustee seat, Robert Hammond is running for the Jack Beers seat as Beers is not going to run again as a village trustee.
In other Canisteo news, Town Supervisor Joe Harrington says, Disaster Recovery Partners has been working with FEMA on the storm damage to Canisteo highways and river streams.
