Nat’l Weather Service: Canisteo Area Hit With The Storm

FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE 6:30pm – A severe thunderstorm was located near West Cameron, moving northeast at 30 miles per hour. HAZAARD: 60 mile an hour wind gusts and half dollar size hail. SOURCE: Radar Indicated. IMPACT: Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding and trees. LOCATIONS IMPACTED: Include Bath, Howard, Urbana, Pulteney, Wheeler, Wayne, Avoca, Cameron, Bradford and Savona.

FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE: 6:12pm – Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Canisteo, or eight miles southeast of Hornell, moving northeast at 40 miles per hour. Wind gusts up to 40 mph. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include: Canisteo, Hornell, Howard, Bath, Urbana, Avoca, Cameron, Bradford, Wheeler and Cohocton.
