New Police Cars For The HPD, New Fire Trucks For The HFD, New Speed Signs To Be Placed In Three Hornell Area Locations

At the Thursday Hornell Public Safety Committee meeting, the committee voted to buy two new police vehicles. The cost will be $57,000 each. The two new vehicles for the HPD are Dodge Durango Pursuits, which will replace the Ford explorer and the charger in the fleet.

Hornell Fire Chief Frank Brzowski says he’s has two new firefighters to the fire academy: Chris Davis Josh Szarek.
Also there are three provisional firefighters In EMT training now who will go to the fire academy in February Austin wheat craft Josiah Lineha And Justin Morse.

There are two new pumper firetrucks, which have been ordered/purchased. The Hornell Fire Dept. is in the process of replacing two older firetrucks, both of which are over 20 years old.

In other news from the Public Safety Committee, Police Chief Ted Murray says they’re putting up flashing signs about the crosswalks on Seneca Street soon. Mayor John Buckley also stated that city crews will also be repainting the crosswalks too

In addition, the Hornell Police Department is looking at putting up three new speed signs Crosby Street, and one on each end of the four lane.
