New Speed Signs In North Hornell

April 2, 2025
From The North Hornell Police Dept

The Village of North Hornell and North Hornell Police Department are excited to announce the newly addition of four new speed signs placed on Seneca Street and Cleveland Avenue. These signs were purchased through the New York State Law Enforcement Technology Grant. Having the installation of these signs will help provide the safety and attention to operators traveling in the Village of North Hornell. With the new implementation of these new devices, we are hoping to continue to reduce the speed of vehicles traveling in North Hornell along with vehicle operator attention especially with pedestrians and students around our school zone. These signs also provide statistics including minimal and maximum speeds along with traffic counts which will assist with future traffic control and enforcement.
North Hornell Village Police Chief Kyle Amidon would like to continue to remind people to slow down in the Village of North Hornell especially now that the weather is turning and more pedestrians are out walking and riding bicycles. Those who are walking or riding bicycles should stay on the sidewalk or designated lanes and follow the rules of the road as well and pay attention to nearby traffic. We are hoping for a warm and safe summer in the Village.
The Village of North Hornell and the North Hornell Police Department are thankful for these continued grant funds and will continue to search and execute any grant opportunities to assist with taxpayer savings.
