FROM SENATOR TOM O’MARA: “Yesterday, every Senate Democrat voted against an amendment to repeal the disastrous CLCPA and establish a Common Sense Energy Council. It’s no secret that energy prices are skyrocketing due to the reckless climate policies of Albany Democrats— and now even the Governor’s own energy experts (NYSERDA) confirm these mandates are driving utility bills higher. The Common Sense Energy Council would be tasked with developing and approving recommendations to achieve greenhouse gas reductions that are actually affordable and attainable. Rather than working toward a bipartisan solution to lower costs for our residents, Democrats rejected this bill—doubling down on their out-of-touch and ill-conceived climate law. We know that everyday New Yorkers are struggling with rising heating and energy bills, which is why we are fighting for a more affordable, realistic, and reliable energy future.”
