Steuben County District Attorney Brooks Baker tells WVIN News that one of the suspects from the September 2023 arrests, in what law enforcement called “Operation Clean Soak”, has pled guilty in county court. According to the D.A., Maurice Lake of Rochester, pled guilty to an enterprise corruption charge and a bail jumping charge as well. Baker tells WVIN that Lake’s role, was being ‘the drug connection from Rochester,” and that the burglaries resulted, “in buying Bath Salts and Cocaine, and then selling those drugs for a profit,” The suspects involved were believed to have committed numerous break-in’s in Steuben County, Ontario County and down in Pennsylvania too.
