The New York State Police in Painted Post report the investigation of an assault occurring in the town of Erwin. On February 20, 2024, at approximately 5:00 p.m., Steuben County 911 received a report of a person being assaulted at a residence, 348 Victory Highway, Lot #6, in the town of Erwin.
Members of the New York State Police and Steuben County Sheriff’s Office responded, locating a 54-year-old victim suffering from injuries sustained in an altercation. The victim was treated and flown from the scene by helicopter to Robert Packer Hospital. The victim is listed as being in critical condition at this time.
After an investigation, John N. Marvin II, age 59, of Painted Post, NY, was arrested without further incident. He was charged with Attempted Murder 2nd (B Violent Felony) and Assault 1st (B Felony). He was remanded to the Steuben County Jail, pending arraignment in Centralized Arraignment Part Court. The investigation continues at this time.
