Palmesano: Monterey Shock Should Not Have Shut Down
July 27, 2014
SCHUYLER COUNTY, NY – Assemblyman Phil Palmesano (R, Corning) is criticizing Governor Andrew Cuomo for shutting down the Monterey Shock Facility in the Town of Orange, in Schuyler County. While Palmesano noted that the governor followed the proper rules and procedure for closing down the shock facility, the assemblymen spoke of how he was not pleased that the governor’s office would not hear Schuyler County’s side of the story. “He worked within the law to close down the facility in the proper way,” Palmesano acknowledged. “If he was listening to facts, if he was listening to numbers, if he was listening to details, and looked at the information we presented him, there’s no way the closing of Monterey should have ever gone forward.”
