This past week at the state capitol in Albany, Assemblyman Phil Palmesano spoke out twice against the IRC (Independent Redistricting Commission) and their plans to change the lawmaker’s maps. “Welcome to ‘We Know Best Week’ in the capitol. Welcome to power grab week, in the capitol,” Palmesano said. “Despite the fact that the voters overwhelming rejected that (the gerrymandering of the congressional districts. Last night we had the politicalization of the judicial district changes, to create more Democrat judges.” Republicans like Palmesano and Assemblyman Joe Sempolinski maintain, that the IRC wants to create new rules so that they can keep changing congressional maps, so that the Democrats can keep getting more seats.
