Assemblyman Phil Palmesano was in a meeting at the State Capital in Albany this morning with the corrections committee. Palmesano was pushing to get the HALT Act repealed. Palmesano, like many Republicans, says the HALT Act causes chaos in state prisons and makes it so it’s very difficult to discipline inmates. the Corrections Committee Chair, Brooklyn Democrat, State Assemblyman Erik Dill-On, took a vote on the bill to repeal the HALT Act, but the bill is being held in committee.
