Patricia A. “Pat” Green, of Hornell

  HORNELL-Patricia A. “Pat” Green, 74, of Thacher Street, passed away early Tuesday morning (July 4, 2017) at the Vincent House in Wayland, after a brief illness.

  Born in Hornell on April 25, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Jeanette (Helmer) Dickey. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her brother, Ronald Dickey.

  A graduate of Hornell High School, Pat also graduated from the Arnot-Ogden Hospital School of Nursing in Elmira in 1964. She began her nursing career as a Registered Nurse at St. James Mercy Hospital in Hornell where she was employed for over 30 years as a Night Supervisor. Later she became employed by MATCH and was presently employed for over 20 years in the Maternity Department of Noyes memorial Hospital in Dansville. Pat was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hornell and also served as a volunteer at Turning Point.

  She was an avid knitter and also enjoyed sewing quilts, but most of all she loved to spend time with her family.

  Her loving family includes her four children, Christopher (Michele) Green of Fayettville, N.C., Cheryl (Geoff) O’Dell of Alleghney, Janice (Kelley) Louthon of Naples and Jeffrey (Anne) Green of Raleigh, N.C.; her seven grandchildren, Rachel, Chloe, Jacob, MacKenzie, Cole, Lucas and Leah; her brother, Robert (Carol) Dickey of Hornell; also, her nieces and nephews as well as many “wayward” children who all referred to her as Mom.

  The Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 285 Main St. in Hornell is honored to serve the family of Patricia A. “Pat” Green.

  Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family beginning at noon on Saturday (July 15, 2017) at the First Baptist Church in Hornell where a Celebration of Life will follow at 1 p.m.
