MOUNT MORRIS, NY – Livingston County Sheriff Tom Dougherty says that Livingston County 9-1-1 dispatcher Curt Grant and Deputy Sweeting, and Mount Morris Police Officers Bryant and Brado, helped deliver a baby in Mount Morris. The sheriff reports that a 9-1-1 dispatcher helped the pregnant woman’s husband with instructions on what to do over the phone, and stayed on the phone, until Mount Morris Police and Livingston County deputies arrived at the pregnant woman’s home, along with an EMT.
Then, the police officers and the deputy helped deliver the baby. Sheriff Dougherty says that the mother and the baby, who is named Kennedy Jean, are doing well. The dispatcher said he was proud to have helped out, and that most 9-1-1 calls are negative, and this was a very nice thing to be a part of.
