HORNELL, NY – Marjoe Milliner, owner of Milliner’s Southern Smokes at 66 River Street in Hornell, got a call this morning about racist graffiti being painted on the outside of his restaurant. The word “Klan” was on the outside of Milliner’s restaurant. Milliner, a local business man, who served in the U.S. Army from 1993 to 1999, got a call about it, earlier this morning. “We got a call from a concerned friend who said there was an image of the klan on the building, and we didn’t believe it at first,” Milliner told Wlea News. “You know, it’s very disheartening to see it at first, and we both were very angry, we contacted the police and they informed us of what they could do for us. The biggest thing is, as sad as it is, I don’t want it to reflect our community, I know a majority of the people in our community are good people, it’s a good place, and I don’t want to bring the negativity, but it just shows that there is that type of hatred out there. For whatever reason, someone felt they needed to write that on the building, it is disheartening, but as a community overall, I don’t think it’s like that at all.”

Hornell Police have been notified and are investigating the incident.
