Reed: About $35,000 For Hornell Housing Authority

Today, Congressman Tom Reed is proud to announce several Department of Housing and Urban Development CARES Act grants for various housing entities across the district totaling over $300,000. This funding is a part of the CARES ACT Housing Choice Voucher Program Administration Fees Round 2 program. This wave of HUD allocations will be used for preparation, prevention, or in response to a Coronavirus outbreak.
“We care about making sure those in our district are provided fair access to safe housing, especially during the COVID-19 crisis,” said Tom. “We were proud to fight for this funding and will work to ensure our constituents have access to the resources they need during this difficult time.”

“The CARES Act administration fee funding is being used for administrative expenses and supplies like PPE as well as for the extra tasks and duties needed due to COVID-19,” said Ithaca Housing Authority Executive Director Brenda Westfall. “We are working very hard to respond to the needs of our participants who are experience hardship due to COVID-19.”

Andrew Tyman, Geneva Housing Authority Executive Director, said “It will help us in our fight against COVID-19 with cleaning costs during COVID and will increase our IT connection with the section 8 participants.”

– Village of Elmira Heights, $12,533
– the Geneva Housing Authority, $5,096
– Southern Tier Environments For Living, $3,555
– the Jamestown Housing Authority, $34,811
– the Ithaca Housing Authority, $199,967

– City of Salamanca, $19,302
