Reed’s Reaction To Hillary Being Cleared: Double Standard

WASHINGTON, DC – During Tuesday’s weekly press call, Congressman Tom Reed (R, Corning) was asked if he thought, as some talk show hosts have stated, that there is a double standard going on in Washington, where those like former CIA Director Gen. David Petraeus resigned from his position and pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor, while Hillary Clinton was cleared on Monday by the FBI of any charges. Reed responded that the double standard is something that we should all be worried about. “The double standard is a legitimate concern, and how you compare it to other individuals that were treated, be it General Petraeus, (or) other, even lower folks in the military, in the State Department, that have been handled differently, is something that we should all take a look at,” Reed told WLEA News. “To have a double standard because of who she is potentially, or the establishment effect, the DC insider halo, is something that we should all be concerned about, because nobody should be treated differently.”
