Reed Slams Plumb Over Iranian Deal, Plumb Says Reed Is Unqualified

July 19, 2016

Congressman Tom Reed sent out a statement on Monday, criticizing his Jamestown Democrat opponent John Plumb, a former Defense Department official who Reed maintains, worked on President Obama’s Iranian Deal. Reed said that it was a “year of failure,” and that “our world is in more danger because of Obama’s Iran Nuclear Deal.” See Reed’s statement below:

Corning—On the anniversary of the disastrous nuclear deal with Iran, the Reed campaign is pointing out the dismal and destructive results of the Iran Nuclear Agreement. “Instead of taking care of our families and creating policies which keep our nation safe, President Obama endangered our nation, our ally Israel, and our entire world with the Iran Nuclear Deal,” said Tom Reed. “Now, a year later, we are seeing the danger we warned Obama about.”
Iran is threatening Israel, they are not abiding by the deal, and sanction relief is helping terrorists.
“DC John Plumb has stood by the Iran Nuclear Deal even though it put our world in a dangerous position that unfairly compromises the security of the American people,” stated Amy Hasenberg, Tom Reed for Congress Spokeswoman. “While Plumb worked in the White House helping create disastrous foreign policy, the Iran Nuclear Deal was created.” Plumb held a political position in Obama’s White House working on foreign policy until last year when he moved here to run for Congress.

John Plumb said that it is disappointing that Congressman Reed continues to attack his service to the country.” I have spent more than twenty years in the Navy, putting to practice the hard work and dedication it takes to ensure the safety of our families here at home and the security of our allies around the world. I have spent countless hours in the Pentagon working to defend the United States, Israel, and our NATO Allies from Iranian missile attack to keep us safe. In contrast, Congressman Tom Reed has chosen to spend his time on partisan political attacks, including trying to shut down the Department of Homeland Security and defending the right of suspected terrorists to legally purchase military-grade weapons in the United States. When it comes to the security of the United States and our allies, Congressman Reed is dangerously unqualified.”
