Congressman Reed Votes For Military Construction and Vets Appropriations

May 1, 2015

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Tom Reed has voted in favor of the 2016 Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Act. The Act funds services and programs in the Veterans Administration and also funds construction and infrastructure projects which support the military.

Reed says that the bill, which passed the House, increases funding for improving access to care, expediting the backlog of VA claims, and medical research among other advances. “Those who put their very lives at risk to protect our freedom deserve the best possible care, and it is unfair that they have been subject to inexcusable delays and frustration in the VA system,” Reed said. “We can and must do better by them and this a step in that direction.”

Reed’s father was a career Army man.
