Reed Working On Passing Laws Regarding Biosimilars

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Tom Reed is working with Virginia Democrat, Congresswoman Abagail Spanberger, to get a law passed so that drug companies have to disclose the ingredients of medicines known as “biosimilars.” (So what’s a “biosimilar”? A good example would be Tylenol and Advil, medicines that are basically the same as another.

Reed says that this legislation, if passed, would create make it easier for competing drug companies to know what’s in the other company’s newer medicines.
Reed also maintains that this legislation would have the effect, of keeping insulin costs down. Both Reed and Spanberger are in the problem solver’s caucus.
