Reed’s View of the U.S. Navy Sailors Situation In Iran

January 15, 2016

WLEA News asked Congressman Tom Reed what his reaction was, to the news that 10 U.S. Navy Sailors were held earlier this week by Iran.

Reed’s response is below:

“We continue to see aggression from Iran and it is absolutely unacceptable. This latest aggression is a direct result of the Obama Administration’s flawed Iran Nuclear Deal, which I continue to oppose because it has emboldened Iran to act without the threat of real consequence on the world stage. While I am grateful to see the safe return of our sailors, taking them hostage in the first place is intolerable and just not right. The Obama Administration has done nothing but diminish our standing around the world, emboldening our enemies and deserting our allies. We care about protecting the United States homeland, keeping it secure from domestic and foreign threats. That is why it’s time to strengthen our military and lead with peace through strength which will let anyone around the world who means us harm no, that the United State’s response will be swift and determined.”
