Rob Astorino Makes Official Announcement

Astorino Officially Announces
March 4 2014

At 11am this morning, Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino officially announced online that he is running for New York State governor as a Republican. In his video message, Astorino stated that in spite of Governor Andrew Cuomo’s nationwide tv commercials, 400,000 New Yorkers have left the state since Cuomo took office. Astarino also says that he will get rid of Common Core and help charter schools.

Astorino is not the only Republican whose voiced interest in the governor’s job. Though Donald Trump has not officially announced, Trump has attended several GOP fundraisers in New York State. Also, Buffalo billionaire Carl Paladino says he too will enter the race, if Astorino runs. That’s because Paladino wants State Senate Republican leader Dean Skelos and Assembly Republican Leader Brian Kolb both out of their leadership posts, and Paladino does not think Astorino will do that. Paladino has said in the past several months that if Trump does not run, that he (Paladino) will get into the race.
