FROM THE MONROE COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPT: At approximately 11:00 Thursday morning, a deputy from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Mounted Unit was injured by a startled horse while carrying out their duties at the Mounted Barn. The deputy was transported to the hospital for further evaluation of non-life-threatening injuries. We appreciate the efforts of our deputies, EMS and hospital staff who rendered quick aid and wish for a speedy recovery for our injured deputy.
