Rough Roads Bond Is Passed By Hornell Common Council

May 18, 2015

HORNELL- Monday night the common council met and approved a resolution authorizing a one million dollar bond for the reconstruction and or resurfacing of the Hornell City streets.

Mayor Shawn D Hogan said that the city needs to do a “more robust streets program because of the two horrendous winters we have just experienced”. Hogan said that the property tax levy should only go up one or two percent as a result of the bond but also noted that the work on the streets is needed and the interest rates on a bond will begin to inch up as time goes by costing property owners more in the long run.
