Dylan Kinney threw a complete game shutout to lead Salamanca to a 6-0 victory in front of a large crowd at Maple City Park. The Lizards scored a single run in six of the nine innings.
Salamanca collected 13 hits and had runners on base all evening. Maxwell Rogers led the team with a 3 for 4 day. Jaxson Ross was 2 for 4 with two RBI while Gabe Roth was 2 for 4 with a RBI. Howie Stuckey was 2 for 5 and Andrew Hartman drove in a pair.
Kinney allowed two hits and three walks in nine innings of work while striking out five. This is the second quality start Kinney has made Hornell in the first two weeks. He threw seven quality innings last Friday.
The Steamers head to Horseheads on Saturday for a 6:30 p.m. contest with the Hitmen. Hornell returns home on Sunday for a 5 p.m. Father’s Day game vs. Genesee.
