Schumer, Gillibrand, Langworthy, Tenney, Denounce The Arson Attack On Governor Shapiro

April 14, 2025

FROM U.S. SENATOR CHUCK SCHUMER: “I am saddened and deeply disturbed to learn about the arson attack on Governor Shapiro’s residence in Harrisburg. I am praying for him and for his family’s safety, and I am grateful to the law enforcement and first responders who acted quickly to bring them to safety.”

FROM U.S. SENATOR KIRSTEN GILLIBRAND: “The attack on Governor Shapiro and his family on the first night of Passover was vile. I’m praying for Governor Shapiro, and I’m grateful for the first responders who kept him and his family safe. We must protect our communities from antisemitic violence.”

FROM CONGRESSMAN NICK LANGWORTHY: “The arson attack on the Pennsylvania Governor’s Mansion is a vile and reprehensible act of political violence that has no place in a civilized society. This wasn’t just an attack on a home — it was an attack on our democratic process. I thank God that Governor Shapiro and his family are safe. No public official or their loved ones should ever be targeted for their service to the public. This cowardly act must be met with swift and unrelenting justice. The individual or individuals responsible must be found and prosecuted to the fullest extent legally permitted. We must send a clear and unmistakable message: political violence will never be tolerated in the United States. We settle our differences at the ballot box — not through intimidation, threats, or violence. I urge all Americans, regardless of political affiliation, to stand united against this kind of extremism.”

FROM CONGRESSWOMAN CLAUDIA TENNEY: “We’re grateful that Governor Shapiro & his family are safe, & we appreciate the swift response from law enforcement. No matter your political beliefs, political violence is unacceptable. Those responsible for this horrific act of arson must be held fully accountable.”
