Today is Monday June 19th, the Juneteenth holiday. U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer says that this holiday was declared by President Joe Biden in May of 2021. Schumer also says, the purpose of the day is to celebrate the end of slavery, in 1865.
HornelL City Hall is closed today, the Hornell Public Library is closed today, and there are no HAT bus runs today. There are no city, town or village meetings tonight. The Hornell Common Council meets Tuesday night at 7:00, so does the Arkport Village board, the Hartsville Town Board meets Wednesday at 7:00pm.
