ELMIRA, NY – The Corning Leader reports that U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer is pushing for starting up a new medical school in the City of Elmira. “This new medical school could be one of the best things that has happened to Elmira in decades,” he said. Schumer said in a statement that a medical college would “add tremendously to the vitality of the city, complementing the groundwork community leaders have laid for growth.”
