Democrat U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer says, he’s pushing for the FDA to come up with solutions to do something about the prescription drug shortage that hospitals and pharmacies in Upstate New York face. The senator listed off all of the drugs which are not easily available in some counties, and that included Cancer medicines and asthma medicines.
Schumer says, for one thing, Amercian drug companies are only operating at 51 percent capacity, which he says is a major cause of the shortage of medicines.
