Sempolinski: Shawn Hogan And The Democrats Need To Say Something About The Bath Incident, And Hogan Responds

November 4, 2024

FROM STEUBEN COUNTY GOP CHAIR JOE SEMPOLINSKI: “On Friday, November 1st an act of shocking political violence is alleged to have occurred in Steuben County, NY which has received national media coverage. A man was assaulted and his teeth broken in a grocery store in Bath, NY. Apparently, this was for no other reason than the fact that he was wearing a hat that displayed his political opinion. The hat is reported to have said ‘Trump 2024.’

“Both myself and the Steuben Republican Committee immediately denounced this type of political violence on our social media accounts. Neither the Steuben County Democratic committee nor its leader Shawn Hogan has done the same. I call on all residents of Steuben County to stand together against political violence in our community.“

FROM STEUBEN COUNTY DEMOCRAT CHAIR SHAWN HOGAN: “It goes without saying there is no place for violence in our society and that includes politics. I wish Joe was as concerned on January 6, 2021. Why would he try and make this incident a political issue when it is a moral, ethical one? We must not divide, but bring people together.”
