Jason Kaplan, spokesman for U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer has released the following statement, about the Amtrak/Alstom Deal:
“The Amtrak Board of Directors selecting to move forward with Alstom as the train provider for the Next Generation of High-Speed Acela service was the critical decision needed to bring 400 new jobs and hundreds of millions of dollars in investment to the Southern Tier. Senator Schumer worked for months behind the scenes to help secure this enormous victory for Alstom and the Southern Tier. He remains focused like a laser on seeing this project through to completion and on securing any remaining regulatory approvals with all due speed.”
