ALBANY, NY – State Senator Tom O’Mara (R, Big Flats) is weighing in on the Department of Transportation in Washington’s proposal to allow transit agencies getting federal money, to let local cities build train cars for that city’s use.
O’Mara issued the following statement:
“This proposal puts Alstom in Hornell at risk, which means it puts our local jobs and the overall Hornell economy in harm’s way. O’Mara says he is happy to join together with my local, state and federal colleagues to protest this latest proposal coming out of Washington, D.C. that’s out of touch with the challenges already facing local manufacturers like Alstom. The senator goes on to say that it can only make it harder for Alstom to do business in a cost-effective way, and create and sustain the local jobs we depend on.”
