ALBANY, NY – State Senator Cathy Young is weighing in on a New York Daily News story, about how Assemblywoman Linda Rosenthal, wants to legalize “supervised injection facilities” for heroin users, so that they can “self-administer drugs under the supervision of medical staff.” Young posted on Facebook this morning that she will oppose Rosenthal. “I will fight this terrible idea. Taxpayer-funded drug dens will only worsen the heroin crisis and would be a colossal waste of money. The best approach is to tackle prevention and treatment, and prosecute dealers to the fullest extent. Right now, I’m working to pass substantial funding in the state budget to address the heroin and opiod crisis.”
