From Sheriff Todd Baxter: Juveniles Detained in Stolen Vehicle Case – Four Arrested – One Remanded to Secure Detention.
Penfield, NY – The Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies responded to Crown Oak Drive in the Town
of Penfield at 4:18am, Saturday morning, for the report of people breaking into cars. A witness saw the suspects get into a blue Hyundai and leave towards Penfield Road. Deputies promptly located the suspect vehicle and discovered it was stolen. A brief pursuit ensued, and deputies were able to stop the vehicle utilizing stop sticks. All occupants were detained and identified as juveniles. Deputies found multiple vehicles damaged in the area of Oak Drive.
Two 16-year-olds, a 17-year-old and a 14-year-old were arrested and charged with: Criminal Possession of Stolen Property (Class A-Misdemeanor) Deputies transported the 14-year-old to the Monroe County Children’s Detention Center and issued the other three juvenile appearance tickets before releasing them to their guardians. The investigation is ongoing and further charges are forthcoming
