From The Steuben County Sheriff’s Department:

BATH – The Steuben County Sheriff’s department will open its 225th anniversary year with a special
ceremony during the regular county Legislature’s Public Safety and Corrections Committee meeting
Monday. Due to COVID-19 protocols, the ceremony will be live streamed through the county sheriff’s Facebook
page shortly after 9 am and will include awarding commemorative anniversary badges to two people in
recognition of their notable service in 2020.

County Corrections Officer Angelo Sciotti will be honored as 2020 Correction Officer of the Year and
county Deputy Joseph Winters will be honored as 2020 Deputy of the Year at the ceremony.
“These men represent the dedication to the welfare and well-being of Steuben residents that has been at
the core of this office since 1796,” county Sheriff Jim Allard said. “We see the ceremony Monday as
marking the beginning of another two centuries-plus of dedicated service.”
The commemorative badges, paid for at no cost to county taxpayers, and will be worn by all department
