Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on January 11, 2021, deputies of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested Kyle J. Horton, age 21, of Chemung Street, Corning, New York, following the investigation of an attack by an inmate on a corrections officer in the Steuben County Jail. It is alleged that Mr. Horton, an inmate, attacked an officer while exiting his cell, striking the officer in the face and causing physical injury. The officer received treatment at a medical facility and was released. Mr. Horton was charged with Assault in the Second Degree, a class D Felony. Mr. Horton was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and returned to the Steuben County Jail. Mr. Horton is being held in lieu of bail on several other charges.
