October 9, 2022

LONG ISLAND, NY – The New York Post is reporting that two teenagers were shot, outside of Congressman Lee Zeldin’s home. No one in the Zeldin family was injured, though his two teenage daughters were home at the time. Long Island Police did say that the shooting had nothing to do with Lee Zeldin.

UPDATE: Two 17 year old boys were hit with gunfire and taken to a Long Island hospital.

Congressman Joe Sempolinski (R, Canisteo) issued a statement shortly after the news broke. Sempolinski maintains, that crime is out of control in New York State, and that this was just another example of that. “The level of crime that Gov. Hochul has presided over is unacceptable. She is a total failure.”

From Newsday.com and Gov. Kathy Hochul Twitter page: ” I’m relieved to hear the Zeldin family is safe and grateful for law enforcement’s quick response.”
