Single Lane Traffic Work Going On, On 36 Until June

May 17, 2022

HORNELL, NY – The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists that there is single lane traffic, and that started today, along State Route 36 in Hornell, to repair the bridges carrying Route 36 over the Canisteo River. Work is expected to be complete by mid-June.

Drivers should anticipate travel delays and build extra travel time into their schedule. Construction activities are weather dependent and subject to change based on conditions.

Motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
