St. James Hospital Confirms The Closing Of
Adult/Adolescent Pyschiatric Inpatient Unit

HORNELL, NY – St. James Mercy Hospital public relations person Linda Blauers announced today that the hospital is moving forward with an anticipated closure date of December 19, of this year.
According to Blauers, final approvals from the New York State Office of Mental Health and Department of Health are in process, and SJMH is working with the state to attain final approval for closure.
The hospital will stop admitting patients on December 5, and St. James Hospital has agreements with four hospitals in the region: WCA Hospital (Jamestown), Wyoming County Community Hospital (Warsaw), Olean General Hospital, and St. Joseph’s/Arnot (Elmira).
