State Budget News

April 1, 2019

ALBANY, NY – A budget deal has been worked out. Here’s what we know so far: Governor Andrew Cuomo got his two percent tax cap made permanent, as well as an extra billion dollars for education, three prison closures, not just two prisons, free college for illegals. Also, a bag ban: no more plastic bags for grocery store customers to take their groceries out with.

Republican Assemblyman Phil Palmesano was a no vote, on the governor getting a pay raise, Palmesano criticized the budget, for giving tax breaks to Hollywood movie makers and free college for illegals.
