State Comptroller Dinapoli Says The State Gov’t Needs to Chip In To Help EMS Statewide

March 28, 2024

Steuben County Manager Jack Wheeler and County Public Safety Director Tim Marshall have been talking about this for months now: the lack of volunteer firefighters and EMTs these days. And this problem has been noticed by State Comptroller Tom Dinapoli. The comptroller issued a report today that says New York State government needs to get more involved in helping provide more emergency medical services across the state. The State Comptroller says the two top issues at the local level are lack of staff and lack of funds. Dinapoli also says the state needs to get involved at the county level to help New York State residents get more access to emergency medical care.
