New York State Police Investigators Association Proudly Endorse Judge Mathew McCarthy for Steuben County and Family Court Judge
Corning, NY, September 23, 2024 – Acting Steuben County and Family Court Judge Mathew McCarthy recently received the New York State Police Investigators Association endorsement. Judge McCarthy said “I am thrilled to receive the endorsement and trust of over 2,600 NYSP Investigators throughout the state. These men and women work hard to keep our families and communities safe. I will do my best to reward that trust by holding myself to the same high standard as they do and administer justice equally and fairly for all who appear before me.”
New York Police Investigators Association President Timothy Dymond detailed the importance and reasoning for his union’s endorsement.

The Investigators Association represents more than 2,600 active and retired Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) members of the New York State Police. Judge McCarthy was elected in 2014 as the full-time Corning City Court Judge and has served in a dual capacity as City Court and Acting County and Family Court Judge since January 1, 2015. Prior to his election he had worked for over 9 years as a prosecutor with Steuben County District Attorney’s Office and represented children in Family Court as an Attorney for the Child for over 10 years. He also maintained a private law practice with his father at McCarthy Law in Bath for over 10 years.
Judge McCarthy and his wife, Jolie, are lifelong residents of Steuben County and have lived in Corning for over 20 years. A graduate of Avoca Central School, St. Bonaventure University and Albany Law School he has remained active in numerous civic and social causes supporting our area. Judge Mathew McCarthy will be running on the Republican and Conservative Party lines this fall.
