On March 7, 2024, at approximately 2:33 p.m., the New York State Police from SP Wayland, the Canisteo Police Department, and the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office responded to Arkport Central School District for a report of a threat via social media.
Subsequent to an investigation, a 13-year-old male suspect was taken into custody without incident. He was charged with Making a Terrorist Threat (D Felony). The 13-year-old was processed and released on a Family Court Appearance Ticket to appear at Steuben County Probation on March 14, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.
