The news about the Saturday morning accident on 390 in Wayland, has gone from bad to worse. We told you this morning that one of those accident victims was a pregnant mother who had died, but her baby was delivered and had survived. And now state troopers are saying that the baby that was delivered on Saturday morning at the hospital in Dansville, has died.
Regarding the ten others who survived that terrible accident, their ages range from a one year old, to a 49 year old. They were members of three families together riding in a van from Morristown Pennsylvania to Niagara Falls for a vacation. State Police say the accident was caused because a tire failed on 390 in Wayland Saturday.

On August 19, 2023, at approximately 9:18 a.m., SP Wayland troopers responded to a rollover accident that was on I-390 northbound in the Town of Wayland.
A preliminary investigation revealed three families were traveling from Norristown, PA, to Niagara Falls for a family vacation in a 2005 Ford E-350 van. While the van was traveling northbound on I-390, the rear passenger tire failed. The driver, Adrian Andrade-Dolores, 41 years of age, lost control of the vehicle and exited the roadway on the west shoulder and into the median, causing the vehicle to roll multiple times before coming to rest.
There were 13 occupants in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Nine victims were taken via ambulance to Nicholas-Noyes Hospital in Dansville. One of those victims, Margarita Ramirez-Luna, 40, was a pregnant female who succumbed to her injuries. The baby was successfully delivered by the hospital staff. However, has since passed away. One victim was taken by ambulance to St. James Hospital in Hornell. Two victims were airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. One male subject, Alex Andrade,12, was pronouced deceased at the scene by the Steuben County Coroner.

New York State Police was assisted at the scene by NYS DOT, Bath Ambulance, Bath VA Ambulance, Hornell Ambulance, Springway Ambulance, Cohocton Valley Ambulance, Springwater Ambulance, AMR, Wayland Fire Department, Perkinsville Fire Department, Life Net 77, Mercy Flight, and the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office.
New York State Police assets that responded were the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the Collision Reconstruction Unit, the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit, and our Violent Crime Investigative Team.
